More formal education? At 53 yo? Yes!

Why I’ve decided to return to formal education

About 3 years ago, whilst “stuck” in yet another corporate job, I woke up. Truly.

I was fortunate to be an early adopter, fascinated always with new tech, new business models, new ways of seeing things.

I had got into crypto around 2013. Bitcoin was trading at $150 at the time; ethereum at $15. The amount staked is not important. Rather, the concept is.

I had a smallish position in a new ecosystem. A digital alternative. I didn’t realise it at the time but as my corporate job drove me, literally, into the ground, I thought “why?”. And “how”.? I knew the “when”…. It was post Uni, years prior.

My point is, at some defining moment epiphany, I realised that my professional & personal future resided elsewhere.

— — I wrote the above 2 years ago but never published — -

I’m now 55 yo and half-way though a MSc program in Blockchain & Digital Currencies at the University of Nicosia.

I also became an enterpreneur, co-founded a company, successfully sold the company to a corporate and still work there.

Bottom line — mindset, perspective and ACTION are the key to life’s success … at least it has been for me.
